Monotypes

A Monotype is a painting/printmaking technique that produces a unique piece. To make a monotype, I paint on a piece of plastic or cellophane, which is then rubbed against the paper. I then decide to add more inks and colors to develop my image.
Monotypes were created by an Italian printmaker in the 17th century.
