Following an annual luch with close friend Sir Edward John - who recruited Nigel - the EYES team investigate Sir Edward's son Howard, a civil servant with access to secrets, who is reportedly "acting strange". Maggie gets to know the Howard family when she goes to Sir Edward's 70th birthday party with Nigel.After Howard fails in a suicide bid, Maggie discovers Sir Edward's "secret" and the reason for Howard's behaviour.
