Fly
fishing for Carp – the very latest craze!!!
The
alternative fly fishing lake is a dedicated fly only water, so
there will be no bait anglers fishing at any time. There are 15
pontoons each one over 15m apart giving plenty of space for each
angler. It’s gradual banks lead down to a 7’ maximum
depth. We stocked this pond back in Mid – December with
over 50 large carp. The smallest weighed in at 4lb the largest
at over 15lb!!
In addition to these magnificent specimens there is over 6000
F1 Carp weighing around 1½lb which will eventually moved
to the match pond to be replaces by Perch and Chub. Also there
are a sprinkling of Chub and Barbel. The idea of this lake is
to offer an alternative to fly – fishing in the summer month’s
when the fishing becomes hard. As an added bonus these Carp love
taking of the top of the water so dries, muddlers etc will work
fantastically well!!
