There are a vast array of things to do in the Berwickshire Area.  If you play golf there are several small courses, including a Links Course, in the area.  Bookings can generally be made on the day.  With 3 rivers and several Reservoirs in the area, fishing is a must. The River Tweed, the River Blackadder and the River Whiteadder provide both salmon and trout fishing.  A short drive will take walkers onto either the Southern Upland Way or the St. Cuthbert's Way, plus there is excellent walking in the Lammermuir Hills and the Cheviots.  Pony trekking can be arranged either locally or on the coast with wonderful beaches.

While in the area it is worth visiting some of the following attractions:-
 
 

• The walled Border town of Berwick-upon-Tweed, sitting at the mouth of the Tweed River and steeped in history.
• St. Abbs Head with its wonderful seabird viewing points.  Home to colonies of Puffin.
• Holy Island, Bamburgh Castle and the Farne Islands.
• The stately homes of Manderston and Paxton House, or the grander Floors Castle and Thirlestane Castle.
• Norham Castle, Melrose Abbey, Mary Queen of Scots house at Jedburgh and Flodden Field are all within striking distance, as are the towns of Kelso and Coldstream.
• A pleasant outing on a sunny day is the light railway at Heatherslaw Mill, which will take you through the countryside to Etal, where you can visit the castle and partake of a good lunch at the thatched pub in this pretty village.

The Jim Clark Memorial Rally takes place every year at the end of May and sections of the rally run through the village.  Where better to stay for this and other exciting events!!
