Hellingly Hospital was formerly known as the
East
Sussex County Asylum. It
was an enclosed community having a farm, church and even its own
railway connected to the nearby Cuckoo Line. . Opened
in 1903 and closed in the
early 90's the buildings have suffered from the ravages of vandals and
the elements.
