CHAT , a combination of Chessington and Hook churches, once again ran a week - from 28 July to 1st Aug - of activity mornings for over 60 children.

Based this year  on "The Olympic challenge".

They made biscuits,  learned songs, and did lots of arts and craft.

Then they came on the Sunday to join in the family service, and to show the results of their endeavours.

We have revived this social group  -  Sunday lunch, trips to the beach : and any other ideas.

We went to the Rose Theatre Kingston on 10 April to see "The Ragged Child", based on
Lord Shaftesbury's work with children of the poor.

Then a Safari Supper on 10th May.   A 3 course meal, but each course
at a different house around Chessington :

On 5 July it was Talent Night in the hall.    Dance, recitations, music.   In between a couple of rounds
of the Yes - No interlude   -  remember it from Take Your Pick ?   -   with Richard on the gong.

Our Sunday evening service on April 20th  was a    Songs of Praise.    Quite a few familiar, but not
regularly sung hymns and songs were chosen.    Each had a dedication, a reason for the choice,
read out by John who led us, or by the person choosing.

On Good Friday 21st March, the Walk of Witness this year was from
St Catherine's, Leatherhead Road, to our church  -  where  Hot Cross Buns and hot drinks were most welcome 'cos it was so cold.

Along the way there were pauses for prayer and reflection, such as the one shown - in North Parade.
