Stapleford Singers

Who we are

The Stapleford Singers is a group of about 40 singers who give two or three concerts a year in the village of Stapleford, a few miles south of Cambridge. The Society was founded in 1984, and performs a wide variety of choral music from the 16th to the 20th century. We are accompanied at our concerts by the Stapleford Sinfonia, an orchestra of local instrumentalists.

Rehearsals

If you would like to sing with us, just come to a rehearsal. There are no auditions. We are simply enthusiastic amateur singers who enjoy singing choral music.

Rehearsals take place on Monday evenings, 7.45pm - 9.15pm, at Stapleford Community Primary School, Bar Lane, Stapleford. Click here for a map.

During the Summer term 2008, we are preparing for an informal get-together in June. Rehearsals are every Monday except May 5th. Here are some midi files to help you:

You can play these files with Real Player or Windows Media Player, but if you want to pick out the different parts then click here to download MidiPlay. Help on running MidiPlay is here.

Recordings

All our concerts are recorded by Geoffrey Smallwood. If you would like a CD or a tape of our latest concert, or any previous one, please email him at
