Stapleford Singers

Information for choir members

If you want to use your computer to help you learn your part, you have two ways of doing it:

Whichever way you choose to do it, be aware that the MIDI files are not note perfect. There’s the odd mistake in them. And remember that the tempo and dynamics might be rather different from the way that Adam wants us to do them.

If you want to use the CyberBass files then click on one of the following links:

That takes you to the Cyberbass website. Right click on the appropriate link there (then save the file on your hard disk so that you can run it later).

If you want to use MidiPlay then the instructions below tell you how to:

  1. Download the MIDI files
  2. Download and run the MidiPlay program

and at the end there are:

  1. Further Notes
  2. Acknowledgements

Here are the instructions:

  1. To download the MIDI files:

  2. Click on one of the following links:

That takes you to John Hooper's website. Right click on the appropriate link there (then save the file on your hard disk so that you can run it later). I haven't had a chance yet to check the files for wrong notes, so be careful.
Note: For the Vivaldi, be careful to use the Casella-Ricordi version.

  3. For instructions on downloading and running the MidiPlay program click here.
  4. Further notes

  5. Acknowledgements

If you have any problems with the MidiPlay program or the MIDI files or suggestions for improvement then email me at

If any of you want to write something to appear here, or if you have any photographs of the choir, then please let me know.

Cheers,
Chris.
