The New John Smith 26 Note Roll Player.

(26 Note, Standard 110mm Roll )

John Smith Playing The 26 Note

This new organ has been designed to be powerful and versatile. It will play both standard 20 and 26 note music rolls, there isprovision for up to four ranks of melody pipes, plus a front mounted glockenspiel, all operated via stops.

Six different pipe styles will be detailed, enabling the builder to personalise the organ to their own preference.

The prototype with its Glockenspiel has performed very well at steam fairs throughout this season, running at 8" water gauge, however the extra notes of the scale mean that it is quite capable of playing serious music, set to 4" W.G. a very nice "Parlour Organ" could be made.

With its necessary valves and wind chest this is not a quick project, although it will begin to work with just 20 pipes.

The method of construction has many similarities to my Busker making it an ideal follow on for the serious organ fan.

The organ has 69 pipes, three phase bellows (giving a very smooth turn) weighs about 80 lbs, and measures 22" wide, 16" deep (plus Glock). And 26' high.

The building pack will contain not only full practical instruction with a supporting video.

But also lots of relevant principles and tips to enable the enthusiast to move on to build further instruments of their own design.

The plans are in preparation and I expect to complete them early in 2001.
