Some rules translation may not have made the following points clear.

Q)
Do Investment Cards count towards the 8 cards required for the 20 point Expedition bonus.
A)
Yes they do. If you have eight or more cards in any one Expedition, then a 20 point bonus is awarded for that Expedition. It does not matter if there is a mix of Investment and Expedition cards (but remember that Investment cards can only be played before any Expedition cards are added to the Expedition).

Q)
Can more than one Expedition earn the 20 point bonus.
A)
Yes they can. The 20 point Expedition bonus can be awarded once to each of the 5 Expeditions.

Q)
Can a single Expedition earn more than one 20 point bonus.
A)
No. It does not matter if the expedition has 8, 9, 10 or more cards, a single expedition can only earn the bonus once.

Q)
Can you still earn the 20 point bonus even if the Expedition does not score.
A)
Yes. There is only one combination which will allow this to happen. If you play three Investment cards and then the 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 cards to an Expediton, the value of the Expedition is zero but you still earn the 20 point Expedition Bonus.

Expedition cards, 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 + 6 = 20 points
Expedition Costs, -20 points
Interim Result, 20 - 20 = 0 points
Investment cards, x 4 multiplier
Result, 0 x 4 = 0 points
Expedition Bonus, 20 points
Total, 0 + 20 = 20 points for one Expedition.

Q)
How is a score of 156 achieved from just one Expedition.
A)
If you somehow managed to play all the cards from one Expedition, that is the three Investment cards and all nine Expedition cards, in the correct order, you will get 156 for that one Expedition.

Expedition cards, 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 + 6 + 7 + 8 + 9 + 10 = 54 points
Expedition Costs, -20 points
Interim Result, 54 - 20 = 34 points
Investment cards, x 4 multiplier
Result, 34 x 4 = 136 points
Expedition Bonus, 20 points
Total, 136 + 20 = 156 points for one Expedition.

Q)
How many discard piles are there.
A)
Five, one for each Expedition (i.e. one for each colour). When a player makes a discard, it must go to the appropriate discard pile.

Q)
When you play a numbered card to your Expedition, it must be a higher number than previously played cards of that Expedition. Does this mean just higher than cards in your Expedition or does it include the opponents as well.
A)
For this rule you only take notice of any numbered cards from your Expedition, it does not matter what has been played by your opponent.

You have played a '2' blue Expedition card, your opponent has played the '5' and '7'.
You can extend your Expedition by playing a blue '3' card or higher.
Your opponent can only extend his Expedition by playing a blue '8' or above.
