Travel to Inchnadamph - it's easier than you might think! By Car. We are about half an hour drive north from Ullapool, itself just over an hours drive from the highland capital of Inverness. The Lodge is clearly signed off the main Ullapool to Durness road - part of the North & West Highland Tourist Route. We are also just over an hour from Dornoch on the east coast. If you have arrived in Scotland by Air, Rail or Coach then you may wish to consider a hire car. Most of the main car hire firms have offices at the major airports & some rail stations. From the central belt area - try easyCar for some of the best deals. In Inverness you may wish to try Sharps Reliable Wrecks - with offices at the station and airport - in addition to the major firms. For local car rental in Assynt the nearest is in Ullapool at Daley's Deals Tel: 01854 612848 or the Lochbroom Filling Station . Bus Travel to Inchnadamph. To reach Inchnamaph there is a direct service from Inverness every day (except Sunday) during the summer - operated by Tim Dearman Coaches . This is a service that also calls at Ullapool, Lochinver & Durness. It passes Inchnadamph on a return journey to Inverness at about 5pm. Otherwise there are fairly frequent coach services to Ullapool from Inverness - operated by Citylink & Rapsons Coaches . There is then a minibus service that links Ullapool & Lochinver - passing Inchnadamph en-route. Please call us for details of this. The alternative ttravel route from Inverness (or Thurso/Orkney) is to take the train to Lairg Station, and then travel by postbus to Inchnadamph & Lochinver. The postbus from Lairg leaves at about 1pm,(connecting with the 11.05 train from Inverness) and the postbus to Lairg leaves Inchnadamph at 9.30 am. Travel to Inverness. BY AIR. There are domestic flights to Inverness from London Gatwick (easyJet & British Airways) and from London Luton (easyJet). British Airways also operate flights from Edinburgh, Glasgow, Stornoway & Lerwick. Eastern Airways operate a daily flight from Manchester, with a connection on to Norwich. There are no direct flights from mainland Europe to Inverness - there may connections with easyJet or BA via Luton or Heathrow. Ryanair flies to Glasgow Preswick from Bournemouth & Stanstead and some European destinations - and also offers free or subsidesed rail travel on to any destination in Scotland (to find details on this offer you must click on the Destinations menu, then Glasgow Preswick from the map, and then Transport). BY RAIL. Let the train take the strain - try the overnight Caledonian Sleeper from London Euston (or Watford, Preston & Crewe) to Inverness - with Scotrail's Bargain Berths fares are as low as £19 one way. There are also Apex fares and the 'Seated Sleeper' tickets available on this route. Scotrail also operate all other rail services within Scotland - including out to Kyle of Lochash & to Thurso & Wick in the north. It is possible to buy a railpass ticket to Ullapool that is valid on Citylink coach services. Daytime trains to Inverness from other UK destinations are operated by GNER and Virgin Cross Country - full timetables are at www.nationalrail.co.uk BY BUS There are numerous coach services to Inverness - including overnight services from London and other cities. Citylink and National Express are the two most common.
