The Creator declares His purpose with this planet
"Has not the Lord Almighty determined....... the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea." Hab.2v13/14.
The Glory of the Lord defined
"The Lord the Lord , the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished... Exodus 34v6/7
Israel at the Centre of God's purpose
"When the Most High gave the nations their inheritance, when he divided all mankind, he set up boundaries for the peoples according to the numbers of the sons of Israel." Deut.32v9
The Kingdom of Israel under David the pattern for the future
"The Lord declares to you (David) that ... your house and your kingdom shall endure for ever before me; your throne shall be established for ever." 2 Sam.7v11&16
David's "Son" Identified
"He (Jesus) will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord will give him the throne of his father David and he will reign over the house of Jacob for ever: and his kingdom will never end." Luke 1v32/33
The Embryo Kingdom matures under Jesus Christ.
"Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me" Matt.28v18
"...but in these last days has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word." Hebrews 1 v2/3
"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David's throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on for ever . The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this." Isaiah 9v6/7
The Associates of Jesus Christ during his reign
"But the saints of the Most High will receive the kingdom and will possess it for ever - yes,f or ever and ever." Dan.7v18
"Then the sovereignty, power and greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven will be handed over to the saints, the people of the Most High. His kingdom will be an everlasting kingdom, and all rulers will worship and obey him." Dan.7v27
"I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw ... them come to life and they reigned with Christ for a thousand years." Rev.20v4
The Golden Age
"...but with righteousness he will judge the needy, with justice will he give decisions for the poor of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth; with the breath of his lips will he slay the wicked... 11
"... They will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain, for the earth will be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea." Isaiah 11v4/5&9
To every generation since our time began the Creator of all things has made His intentions known!
So it does not really matter what will happen on December, 31st., 1999 because through God's word we are looking forwards to another promised time... the Lord Jesus Christ "coming down from heaven, with a loud command , with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God..." 1 Thess.4v16
