at Mill Hill. As a physicist, Gregory became interested in the extra dimensions
within the areas of the occult and paranormal phenomena, and who, with
two friends, Molly Goldney & Harry Price (an author on such issues)
and a few others, were able to rubbish the claims that Borley
Rectory was the most haunted home in Britain. He also considered 'time'
and the scientific argument for human immortality, and the psychology
concept of dreams, and the consequent ability of seeing the future. In about 1950, Gregory moved to Church Crookham in Hampshire.
He
moved into a large, run down Edwardian house within the village,
the true location now being unknown. In it's day, it was considered to
have been quite grand, having been owned by a personal friend of the
then King. It was demolished some years ago but was similar to his
childhood home, being set in several acres of grounds also full of rhododendrons.
Gregory re-married here when he was in his sixties, and went on to have
a second family, consisting of two daughters Hillary and Catherine, who
grew up in the village.
Upon retiring as
the Director of the University of the London Observatory in the mid
1950's, & having taught Astronomy in the Department of Physics in
University College London, Gower Street, Gregory went on to create The Institute for the Study of Mental
Images (ISMI), from his home in Church Crookham and in 1959 was able to
fund and publish a book entitled :- "O-Structure: An
