Buffy - the final episode - Chosen

It had to happen eventually - and now that the final episode of Season 7 has been screened, well.. what was it like ?

Buffy in Chosen - click for larger version.Actually, I thought it was a good way to finish. Sunnydale disappearing into a large crater in the ground. That ruins the Sunnydale High School reunion...! Although, Giles does say that there is another Hellmouth in Cleveland - which may leave things open for another spin-off series.

The final episode also ties in with Angel Season 4 by allowing Angel to bring Buffy the magical amulet - and for Angel to realise that Spike is playing a big part in Buffy's life.

Spike in Chosen - click for larger version.Perhaps inevitably, there are also some disappointments. Anya's death is skipped over - and Angel does not get the chance to fight in the final battle. Also, although the army of vampires is destroyed by Spike, was the First actually killed !? I don't think so - but maybe I missed something....

Best bits for me were where Giles says 'The earth is definitely doomed' - a deliberate reference to the end of Season 1 - and the Spike - Buffy speech where Buffy says 'I love you' and Spike replies 'No you don't - but thanks for saying it'

The final scene, looking back on Sunnydale, was also great...

The First evil actually first appeared way back in Season 3 in the episode Amends - see page 4.
