Hello. I'm European Premier Atticus Kanati Silvershadow, known as Kanati - or Kan to my friends. Kanati is the name of a legendry character from North American mythology and means 'Lucky Hunter'. I'm a black silver classic tabby, born on 4 January 2001 and I came to live with Clive and Cherie on 31 March. They told me I would have two other companions, Saree and Taro, but although I saw both of them on the first day they then went away to hide - possibly because I warned them that I was now the 'owner' of the lounge by growling at each of them. So instead I played lots and lots of games and had a lovely time with C and C. Eventually both Taro and Saree came out and although at first they were a little bit reserved - particularly Saree - they became quite friendly and both let me play games with them, particularly 'chase' which is very fast and exciting. Then Taro started letting me sit with him on the high seat of the play station which is nice because we can watch the birds outside on the grass. He also started washing me so I would lick him as well. I also have a lot of toys and C and C often played games with me, my favourite was with a grey mouse which I would take to Clive or Cherie so they could throw it for me. Then when I took it back and put it down by them - or sometimes into their hand, they would throw it again for me to chase. When I was still young, after chasing the mouse for a little while I would have a rest and then they would both let me curl up on their lap and go to sleep but I don't do that now I've grown up - although I do still go and wake Clive up most mornings so that he can make a fuss of me. In January 2002, Cherie and Clive came home with two new little cats. I kept away from them for a few hours and then when I went to say hello they were very bold so I hissed at them to let them know where their place was - but the little girl growled at me so I ran away and left them alone. After three days though they became less fierce and we all became friends and instead of playing chase games with Taro round and round the flat I chased Rafiq or Rana and sometimes Saree. Rana is my special friend and we sometimes curl up together and wash each other. Unfortunately she is also quite demanding and sometimes when I'm asleep she walks round and round calling me until I wake up and go to her for a little cuddle - then, when I'm wide awake, she goes to sleep. Women!
Now that I’m older I quite like spending time with dad [Clive], I even sit on his lap and have a quiet sleep - especially when he’s ignoring me and ‘working’ on that thing he calls a ‘computer’! The other thing I like doing is waking him up in the mornings. Not too early but just in time for my ‘breakfast’ I jump on the bed and purr to him with my nose just in front of his. Then, if he doesn’t respond, I put my paw on his beard and stroke it until he wakes up. That is always very effective and he always makes a big fuss of me.

My show life started in August 2001 when Clive and Cherie took me and Taro out for the day to a cat show at Worthing. They were really pleased with the nice things the judge said about me who, apart from awarding me an 'Excellent One', also gave me a Nomination for the final stages of the show At the end of September they took me to see the lady vet 'Sandy'. She's very nice but afterwards I felt a little bit tender here and there although I'm not quite sure what she did to me because I went to sleep for several hours - Cherie told me that it was a little operation that would stop me wanting to chase Saree all the time!!! Three days later Clive took Taro out for a whole day. Taro said it was to another cat show at Lincoln and it was a very long drive. When he got home he was very tired and needed a good rest so when I wanted a game I still had to chase Saree.
Since then I've been to many more shows. The next nineteen started with winning another Excellent 1 and Nomination as a junior then on to an adult career with three CAP's [Premier] Certificates and two more Nominations leading to the title of 'Premier' at Stevenage in January 2002 followed by winning five CAPIB [International Premier] Certificates and another Nomination which secured the title of 'International Premier' at Worthing in August 2002 After that I won seven CAGPIB [Grand International Premier] Certificate together with five BIV's and two Nominations eventually gaining the title 'Grand International Premier' at Staines in May 2003.
On 13 August 2005 I finally gained my 'European Premier' title. The first show towards this was at Worthing in August 2003 where I gained a CAPE certificate and then, a month later, at Bognor Regis followed up with another CAPE and a Nomination. In February 2004 I had a cold and couldn't go to the two shows in Maidstone where Taro became a European Premier but a month later I went with all the others to Haywards Heath where I got my third CAPE and a BIV. This was followed, in August, by a trip to the All Winners Show at Worthing where I gained my fourth CAPE together with a BIV and Nomination, then in September, I was off to St Ives - near Cambridge - where I won my fifth CAPE and another nomination and shortly afterwards, in October, I went to Maidstone where I won my sixth CAPE - but lost the Nomination to young Rafiq. My last show for 2004 was at Salisbury where I gained my seventh CAPE and a Nomination and then to my - and both Cherie and Clive's - surprise - I went on to win Best in Show - Neuter and a cup to put alongside those of Taro and Rana. In 2005 my first show was at Swanley where I gained my eighth CAPE and a Nomination, then in April at Bognor Regis I gained my ninth CAPE and then back to Worthing for the tenth and final CAPE certificate. To round it off I went back to Worthing for a second day - just one year after Taro's final show - and was awarded a Prize of Honour [POH] and Nomination.
Now, after 28 shows and 28 wins - including 13 Nominations, 7 BIV's and one Best Neuter in Show - I've retired from showing.

Like Taro I've had a very successful show career and have set out the result of all my 28 shows on the Show Results page - unlike Taro I never missed a Certificate, coming first in all my shows.
