Tuition About us

Be totally immersed in the English language and study on a 1-1 basis in the home of your teacher. Make immediate and rapid progress from our intensive course of lessons. Choose from ten to 30 hours per week for as short or as long as you wish.

We also offer programmes shared with other students, perhaps relatives or friends, with discounts on our tuition and accommodation fees if you prefer. However, living the English language without the distraction of speaking your own language is more likely to lay a good foundation and produce the best results in the longer term.

Most students choose both tuition and accommodation. However, if you have already found your accommodation in England and are staying nearby we can provide a tuition only service for you.

Our teachers: Our English tutors are Christian, Mother-Tongue English and educated to Degree level or above.

Our family: We are a Mum and Dad, and Girl (aged 13) and Boy (aged 10). Don’t forget our cat from Switzerland! Our interests are varied and include: Lots of Sports; Outings and other Activities; Historic and Cultural places; Arts and Languages; Play Station and Computers; Cinema and Music; Piano and Singing; having lots of Fun; and of course being Christians. We are also always open to suggestions. We have lived in Switzerland for five years, so we know what it is like staying in a foreign country. Mum speaks both French and German, and knows some Italian too. So, if you or your child really need to speak in your/their own language then there is someone at home who will listen sympathetically and understand.

Activities Accommodation
We can also provide an exciting activity programme for you or your child that fits your budget. This can include: a day trip to London; shopping; sports; theatre; and many other fantastic outings. There's just so much to do in and around London! Just let us know your interests or your child’s interests and anything special that you might have in mind.
Tower of London Royal Pavilion, Brighton
You or your child will have your/their own private room in a family, detached house with a large garden in a quiet cul-de-sac. Spend time in our wonderful garden where you'll have great fun bouncing on our 3m (13ft) trampoline and playing table-tennis, badminton, swing ball and even football. You'll also enjoy playing table football, pool and other games, and of course sharing barbecues and other meals on the patio. Don't forget the free Internet access for Emails and chat messages. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are normally shared with the English family, continuing with the learning experience.

Christian Activities Bed and Breakfast

Join us for worship at our local Evangelical church or alternatively find fellowship in a local Catholic church or church of your chosen denomination. Our youth group usually meets twice a week at our church, and our cell group usually meets fortnightly in our home. We have fellowship, worship the Lord, pray and study God's word. You are also always welcome to pray with us at any time.

You might also like to bring the whole family with you. Parents, why not enjoy bed and breakfast and perhaps evening meal with us for a weekend, and visit the wonderful sites of London, or stay for a whole week and visit the beautiful countryside?

Arrival and Departure Location

You can choose the dates to suit you and/or your child.

If it is your child’s first time in England or if you’re just a little anxious you can be assured that we shall collect them safely from your chosen London airport or from London Waterloo if they come by Eurostar. Similarly, we’ll escort them to their place of departure to see them safely on their way home.

The programme for each student is tailored specifically to your individual requirements. If you have any additional requests to ensure the comfort and happiness of you or your child whilst sharing in our learning experience then we’ll be happy to consider them. 1-1 tuition together with such a personal service is traditionally more expensive than group lessons offered by language schools. However, we do not have the significant overheads of an international company or language school. We can therefore offer you this very special service at a very reasonable price, with the comfort for you of knowing that you or your child will be staying in a Christian home.

Please contact us by Email or phone and we’ll be happy to discuss your requirements with you.

Find five other students to join our 1-1 programme - They can come on different dates or stay with other Christian families - and you will enjoy free accommodation, three free great meals a day, and free English lessons. You just pay for the travel to and from England. Alternatively, find three or four others and your costs will be reduced by half. You can of course donate the free or half-price place to a friend or to a deserving candidate of your choice or our choice. The other students could be members of your church, school friends, school teachers or work colleagues. Maybe you can post a notice on your church, school or office bulletin board. Or perhaps your Human Resources department or Head of Languages can come up with a few colleagues or pupils to save your budget!

Yes, you could come for free!

Discounts Word

Enjoy a discount when you or your child stays for three or more weeks. Pay the full price for the first two weeks then each subsequent week will be discounted by 15%! These discounts can be combined with free or half-price place bookings for further savings.

"Do not oppress foreigners in any way. Remember, you yourselves were once foreigners ... ." (Exodus 22:21)

Reference Donations to Charitable Organisations

"I really appreciate that you all gave me such a wonderful time together. I'll never forget this special time. Through the English I learned so much vocabulary which was very useful. Also thank you very much for the great meals every day. I was so satisfied with your meals that I didn't miss Japanese food at all. I had heard that English meals are not very nice but they are very, very delicious!" (Student reference)

Being part of the UK Evangelical Alliance, and being committed Christians, we donated 100% of all proceeds (including any expenses incurred) to charitable organisations for all students staying with us during 2004 and in the first half of 2005. We shall continue to donate generously throughout the rest of the year and during 2006. [The charitable organisations include the Evangelical Alliance and the TEARfund (responsible for providing aid to the world's poorest communities including the Tsunami disaster appeal), and Christian missionaries in other countries.]

Swiss boy seeks Au Pair position or similar for Christian family
Ideally, I would like to:
come to England from October 2005 to April 2006 (about 6 months though dates could be more flexible);
stay with an English family, a Christian family if possible, ideally having my own bedroom;
eat my meals with the children, perhaps one meal a day with the parents and to share in their family life;
go to a Christian church, perhaps part of the Evangelical Alliance, and to share with other Christians in particular Christian teenagers;
perhaps have some intensive English lessons near to the beginning of the 6 months;
perhaps also have 2hrs 1-1 English lessons each week though regular interaction with the family might be sufficient;
improve my English while I'm staying in England.
In exchange, I would provide:
babysitting services, e.g. taking children to school, collecting them and being at home with them until the parents return and looking after children whilst parents go out on a date;
odd jobs, e.g. fixing things around the house;
housework, e.g. washing clothes, tidying up, cleaning, hoovering, cooking easy meals, perhaps ironing (I'm learning at home now), perhaps other duties.
I am a Swiss boy. I am 16. I am a Christian and my church is part of the Evangelical Alliance in Switzerland. I am talented in playing with young kids and taking care of them. I'm very good at fixing things in and around the house. I pick up things very easily when you show/teach me something new. I like to do craftsman stuff, computers, films, radio controlled planes and sports. I'm allergic to hay and some kinds of flowers (but not a problem in the winter) and some indoor pets. I know some English.

We look forward to your inquiry and to welcoming you or your child into our home.
