More pics will be added as we get the thing running on Kerosene and a tail cone/fairing installed, or if we take it apart again, for any other reason. All the hexagon nuts / bolts will be replaced with stainless Allen headed bolts and the casings cleaned and painted soon!
This
wheel is very, very similar to the one inside the Solent. This
one actually came from the 'free power' shaft housing that
originally was bolted to the rear of the Solent. It started the
F4 Phantoms main engine via a gearbox. The power output is 72
shaft horsepower. Blades are slightly 'steeper' angle so this is
more 'open' than the actual one used in the motor itself, but
would undoubtedly make a good wheel for a turbojet home build
project! (Any offers ?) Too Late..... Gone free to the Phoenix engine designers!
