The Minehead and Exmoor Festival Orchestra would not be viable without the support of our hosts who offer free bed and breakfast accommodation to soloists and the members of the Orchestra.

Although some of our performers live locally, most come from away, many from London. We offer them a holiday and in exchange they provide us with four orchestral concerts and a chamber concert. Accommodation is provided by generous local residents who give them bed and a simple breakfast. The Festival Committee arrange all other catering and pay their travelling expenses and a nominal honorarium. Many performers will stay for up to eight nights but some (especially soloists) will only spend one or two nights here.

In the past, our hosts have really enjoyed having a musician to stay with them. Many have formed lasting friendships and some performers stay with the same host every year.

For one reason or another, some hosts drop out each season and we always need new hosts to replace them.

Hosts will be added to our mailing list and get the benefit of priority booking for all concerts. The best seats are always in demand and hosts and sponsors get first pick.
