This list of BFC books is not exhaustive but merely a guide on some of the books that have been written on Barnsley F.C.

The first Official History written by Granville Firth in 1978.  Out of print and very scarce.  Best chance of acquiring one is through local car boot sales or house clearances, if you're lucky!

Barnsley Chronicle Sports Editor for many years and lifelong Reds supporter.  Follows the Reds from formation right through to their Centenary Year.

Written by Brian Dennis with the assistance of the F.A statisticians.  This gives almost every Barnsley line-up from the club's formation through to the 1995/96 season.  A must for the Reds anaraks amongst us.

Written by David Watson a lifelong Reds fan.  This book follows the fortunes of a number of Barnsley players who made 100 appearances for Barnsley.  Features the likes of Johnny Kelly, Steve Agnew and Mick McCarthy.

"It's just like watching Brazil" is the book written by Reds supporter and BFC poet-in-residence Ian McMillan.  It looks back at Barnsley's historic Premiership season in typical cracking McMillan style.  www.artcircus.org.uk
