Only one supporter filled in the Worst Player entry field with the word "none" when we ran our Best Ever Barnsley FC team feature and asked for your Worst Ever Barnsley FC player.

It was never our intention to publish this information but so many of you mailed the web site and began to discus the subject on Barnsley's official bulletin board that we decided to make a posting.

Worst Ever Player Poll

First Place - Dave Regis - Centre Forward?

Dave featured during the 1996/97 promotion season and is perhaps best remembered for missing an absolute sitter against Gillingham in the League Cup at Oakwell.  Had Regis converted that chance he may well have been forgiven for the relatively tame performances that came before that match.  Only 4000 turned up to see that one but it must have made a big impression on those that did turn out to see a 1-1 draw.

Dave is now playing non league football somewhere in Nottingham.

Runners Up Spot - Ian Woan & Willie (who) Ferry

Woan made the Runners Up spot despite ever only playing as loan player from Nottingham Forest.  He never did manage to demonstrate that accurate left foot shown so many times during his City Ground days under Brian Clough.

As for Willie Ferry, he only played a handful of matches (4) in the 1986 season and managed to score a league goal as well!  He was born in Sunderland but we can't remember that much about him.  I must have gone for a pie or summat!
