NATIONWIDE LEAGUE DIVISION 2 Saturday 20th September 2003 RIDSDALE RALLIES THE FANS
Peter Ridsdale has been rallying the fans ahead of today's game with Swindon Town at Oakwell.
Ridsdale has expressed his pleasure at seeing the support at Port Vale last Saturday where around 1,700 Barnsley fans made the journey to watch the game.
"The supporters are the lifeblood. I want as many people as possible to come to Okawell, enjoy the games and cheer on the team".
Peter Ridsdale clearly knows that the supporters are important to the future of the club and he has shown this in taking the time to speak with them on a one to one basis or via the media.
There has been increased business at the Oakwell Box office with more season tickets being snapped up following the announcement that the joint purchase of Oakwell has now been ratified at the Town Hall yesterday.
Ridsdale clearly means business and if press reports are anything to go by he will be looking to see the Reds climb out of administration within the next week.
