If you have tried to find an image in this area on Ancestry you will have found that all links lead to a wrong image. This table should help you to find the image you want. When you have completed your search do not click on View Image but click on View Record. Underneath the list of people in the household you will find the source citation which gives you Piece, Folio and Page. Find your piece and folio number in the table below and it will show you which Enumeration District to look in. You will have to browse through the images to find the one you want. Note that in Districts 1-21 the images are generally in reverse order, in 22 they are a bit of a muddle and in 23 onwards they are in the correct order.Because there are two pages to each folio and only one of those shows the folio number it is possible that some of the ranges in the table could extend either way to the next folio number.

To find your Enumeration District you must start on the Search 1881 census page. At the bottom select 1881 Wales census. At the bottom of the next page select Glamorgan. At the bottom of the next page select Merthyr Tydfil. On the next page select Lower Merthyr Tydfil. You will then find the list of Enumeration Districts. There may perhaps be an easier way of getting here that I have missed.
