The poorest country in the world, is in trouble. Dictator President Bandana has abandoned Mulango, taking all the money with him and left behind publicity shy Prime Minister Sharma and two Cabinet Minister vying for control, Minister Ode (O-deh) for democracy, Minister Fuloo for dictatorship. Whilst Minister Fuloo raises an army to take over the country, Minister Ode enlists Professor Scott Davies, a washed up NASA Scientist teaching at the countries only University, to apply for international space research finance, with a view to spending the finance on reviving the economy. The plan backfires when the U.S. send Mulango a rocket for diplomatic reasons allowing Scott and his students to cobble together a Moon landing mission to harvest a new source of energy, Helium 3 which they plan to sell to the highest bidder, not realizing the global mayhem they are about to create.

based on George Gissing’s novel about the late 19th century revolutionary movement that shook London society, The Odd Women is a thought provoking tale of the tragic loves and valiant struggles of two women, Rhoda Nunn and Monica Madden, bookends of the feminist spectrum.  Rhoda is a “new woman,” teaching women office skills, the only guarantee of a fair wage and independence.  But can Rhoda’s mission survive love?  Monica can’t face the brave new world Rhoda offers so she retreats to a loveless but secure marriage only to find she has traded one soul destroying and health threatening job for another.
