7. THE EARLY YEARS PROJECT BUDGET

- To advise members of the Partnership of how the Early Years Project Budget is allocated.   (Report of the Director of Education)

8. HEALTH CARE WHITE PAPER

- Sue Bancroft, Avon Health Authority to make an oral presentation.

9. EARLY YEARS UPDATE

- This report provides information on the progress of various early years projects and developments since the last Partnership meeting. (Report of the Director of Education and the Director of Social Services)

10. REVIEW OF >SPONSORED= DAY CARE SCHEME

- This report has been prepared in order to seek views regarding the consultation document >Proposals for a ASupported= Day Care Scheme for 0-8 Year Olds@ (attached). This follows a review of the current scheme whereby Social Services purchases day care places in the independent and voluntary sectors.

 11. MEETING THE CHILDCARE CHALLENGE - A NATIONAL CHILDCARE CHALLENGE

- To advise members on the Government=s Green Paper Meeting the Childcare Challenge@ which is currently available for consultation, and to identify the main implications of the document, consultation arrangements and issues that the Early Years Partnership, in particular, will need to consider.

12. IMPLEMENTATION OF THE BRISTOL EARLY YEARS REVIEW AND DEVELOPMENT PLAN - WORKING GROUP REPORT

- To provide members of the Partnership with an update regarding the work undertaken by Partnership Working Groups established at the Partnership=s meeting on 12 March 1998.

13. URBAN COMMUNITY INITIATIVE

- To update the Early Years Partnership on URBAN, and the development of proposals to deliver the Action Plan.

14. >REGULATION OF EARLY EDUCATION AND DAY CARE= CONSULTATION PAPER

- To inform members of the Early Years Joint Sub-Committee and Early Years Partnership about the Government=s consultation paper concerning the regulation of all early years provision.

It is proposed that the Partnership meet on the following dates:

It is further suggested that the above meetings commence at 4.30 p.m.
