27 January 1999: Joint Council Committee Meeting approved Development Plan & consider paper on "Integration". Also nursery school/ class briefing on new admission policy.
1 February 1999: Deadline for submission of Plan.

2 February 1999: 2.00-4.00pm at Council House: SURE START Trailblazer Project meeting. Another impossible timescale!
9 February 1999: Surestart: Deadline for Confirmation of Interest
16 February 1999: NEYN Conference in London for Partnership members. Details 0171 607 9573
25 February 1999: Additional Partnership meeting to consider normal business. 4.30 to 6.30pm at Southville Centre.(sorry - its in half term!!)
16 March 1999 - 10.00am CUBA meeting of Partnership Chairs & lead officers.
18/19 March 1999 - Kids Club Network AGM "The Childcare Revolution" in London. Details 0171 240 9393.
19 March 1999: Deadline for submission of Surestart Trailblazer application.
27 March 1999: "Effective Assessment & Evaluation in the Early Years". 10-4, Sat 27 March at Pen Green Centre, Corby. Speakers Dr Margaret Carr (New Zealand);Mary Jane Drummond (Cambridge), and Prof Tina Bruce/ Margy Whalley. £120. Details from 01536 -443 435 (or fax 01536- 264191).
1 April 1999 -
Nursery grant rate increases to £1130 per year (£376.70 per term).
New Opportunities Fund (NOF) - lottery becomes available
Partnership meeting - 4.30pm at Southville Centre
28 April 1999 - National Campaign for Nursery Education - Day of Action
29 April 1999 - HEADCOUNT DATE - Summer Term
30 May to 6 June 1999 - National Childcare Week
30 September 1999 - HEADCOUNT DATE - Autumn Term
5 October 1999 - Working Familes Tax Credit introduced (not directly into wage packet until April 2000). Detailed summary to follow shortly.
