The society provides an excellent balanced programme combining new and classic films with a stellar array of guest speakers and excellent film programming.
Winner for the second year running was Keswick Film Club with well over half foreign language programming plus themed nights and the occasional Spinal Tapscreening.
They provide comprehensive, well-researched notes linked to pre-show PowerPoint presentations.
The society has proved that a professional attitude towards marketing with a targeted campaign can make all the difference.
The winner, with a clearly winning programme and a sense of humour was Edinburgh University.
Phil has been involved with film societies since his school days. A past Chairman of BFFS, he set up Purbeck Film Festival in 1996, initiated the Dorset Moviola project and is the guiding light for the his next "big adventure", the first Cinemobile in England.
