Representatives of the organisation meet at festivals around the world and at annual events organised to conduct business. For many countries the main concern is film distribution with art-house movies not being supplied no matter how many Hollywood blockbusters hit the circuits. In all countries where 16mm is the usual screening gauge there is concern about the reduction in supply of prints. Some countries have censorship problems.
So far as UK Film Societies are concerned there are two initiatives of special interest. One is to formulate a means of attracting EU funding and the other is to encourage better circulation of films not currently available in this country.
