Disclosure

Our website aims to provide factually accurate, reliable and up-to-date information about chronic fatigue syndromes. The summaries of the research are compiled and checked by qualified health professionals with more than ten years experience in this field. The editor is a chartered health psychologist and psychophysiologist who has followed the research on ME since 1984 (see CV elsewhere).

The editorial team is independent and there are no conflicts of interest; no links with commercial organisations and no connections to pharmaceutical companies.

We aim to be objective and do not favour one particular theory or treatment. However, to help with the evaluation of the literature, we will identify statements and suggestions which are grossly misleading, unscientific or highly prejudicial. Editorial notes will also correct factual errors and alert readers to significant flaws in the methodology. Personal opinions about theories are limited to the book reviews and articles marked ‘under the microscope’.

To be fair, we give all authors who are criticised an opportunity to respond - unless they have previously informed us that they do not wish to.

In addition to factual information, Axford's Abode also includes a number of other articles on ME, CFS and disability. We hope that these will further increase people's understanding of the illnesses and the experiences of those who suffer from them. Please note that these sections (e.g. Disability Issues, Ellen's Column) are not refereed and that the views expressed do not necessarily reflect the opinions of the editorial team.

If you have any comments on "Axford’s Abode", please let us know by signing the guestbook, or e-mailing us e-mail
