New review on premenstrual syndromes.

Those interested in an authoritative review of treatments for all types of premenstrual syndromes (PMS, PMDD and the others) might like to read the new paper by Prof. Meir Steiner. It's in the Journal of Psychiatry & Neuroscience, 2000, 25, 5, 459-468, title Premenstrual syndrome and premenstrual dysphoric disorder guidelines for management.

Note the difference in approach between the supporters of functional somatic syndromes (e.g. Wessely, Sharpe and Manu), who treat all premenstrual states as a single problem, and specialists like Steiner, who differentiate between ‘subgroups’.
