Christmas
We enjoyed a very happy Christmas period that started early in December with a visit from the village pre-school groups. They came for a Children's Carol Service. Each group brought their own Christmas song and Teddy explained the Christmas story to them. There were about 50 with teachers, parents and friends joining in as well. On the 18 December we had a Carols by Candlelight with Carols and readings by several of our friends. A poem from Carol Fears and Sols by Heather O'Neill. Christmas morning and New years' day were well attended with visitors coming to the Christmas morning Family Service.
Senior Time had started to celebrate with a Christmas tea party back in November. An afternoon of friendship and some laughter preceded with a short address from Nancy Cole on 'gifts'.
Early in January one of our number, Ben Cole, celebrated his 100th birthday with greetings and visits from many friends. Asked for his secret of a long and happy life he said: ''Good living and trust in God''.
