What it is

ShortStraw.Net represents a network of music and computer geeks with a mission to perform, portray and promote the local rock scene in all its diversity.  Wherever it’s local. Stars and Hams. And to say “no” to the corporate image.

History

A blues/rock band called Short Straw took me on as a bass player.  We practiced every week and after a while frequented a pub rock jam at The Swan Inn.  There we began to network with various other bands, musicians, studios and of course the pub landlord, Dave Woodwards.

It was time to put them all “on air” on the web, especially with audio streams so people could check out our sounds without having to download.  Then came the imagery.

I guess there’s loads of potential to do the same for other people, who don’t want to get into the technology.  We could also take it further and put together a whole promotion package.  Speak to us!
