Fifth 'Salute to Pantomime'

The 5th 'Salute to Pantomime' took place on 1st April 2006. The 16 Groups who took part in this year's event are featured below. For more information on any of these groups contact the web master. The event was organised by the Duckpond Players, the compere was Martin Ballard from BBC Radio Leicester and the awards were presented by David Bill, Chairman of Leicestershire County Council. The winner of the Blue Balloon Trophy for the 'Pantomime of the Year 2006' was

Wycliffe Drama Group of Lutterworth with 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs'

Second  - Trinity Players of Hinckley with 'Babes in the Wood'

Third - Breedon Community Pantomime with 'Sleeping Beauty'

 

Best Dame

Winner: Kirt Hammond as Widow Twanky in 'Aladdin' by the Markfield Theatre Group

 

Nominations: Tony Simpson as Dame Nutty Slack in 'Old King Cole' by Anstey Players

           Peter Henton as Mrs Milksop in 'Dick Turpin' by Duckpond Players
