Daniel Grimwood (born 1976) studied with Kent Music School before being awarded a scholarship to The Purcell School in 1987. He studied piano under Graham Fitch; violin and viola under Sybil Copland and Elspeth Iliff; and composition under the late Tim Stevenson In his final year he was Head Boy at the school. In 1994 he studied piano under Vladimir Ovchinnikov, with whom he recently gave an acclaimed recital at Hurstwood Farm in Kent He later studied with Peter Feuchtwanger and regularly gives recitals at his masterclasses.
In 1995 he featured in the RBC Radio 3 Young Artists' Forum and has performed at venues around the world including: the Weill Hall (Carnegie Hall), New York; the British Council, Amsterdam; the British Council, Baku Azerbaijan; the British Embassy, Den Haag; the Rachmaninoff and Gnessin Halls, Moscow; the Symphony Hall, Birmingham; the Bridgewater Hall, Manchester; the Queen Elizabeth Hall, London; and the Purcell Room, London.
Other countries where he has performed are: Slovenia, Estonia, Taiwan, Germany, Austria, Lebanon, USA and Slcily.
Daniel is a member of the Royal Society of Musicians, The Worshipful Company of Musicians, and is British Artistic Co-ordinator of the Azeri Arts Society.
