Tenor - Lindsey Day

Since completing post-graduate vocal studies at the Elder Conservatorium, Lindsey has performed extensively throughout Australia. Lindsey spent 1995/96 in the Australian production of The Phantom of the Opera and returned to South Australia in 1997 to win the State Opera Aria at the Adelaide Eisteddfod. He has recorded for the ABC and in 1995 appeared in Shine the internationally acclaimed film by Scott Hicks.

For the State Opera of South Australia, Lindsey has performed the roles of Andy in Treemonisha, Billy in Mahagonny Songspiel, Benvolio in Romèo et Juliette, Friend in On the Beach and recently appeared in the 2003 season as Beppe in Pagliacci. He has also understudied the roles of Tybalt in Romeo et Juliette, The Tenor soloist in Carmina Burana and The Prologue/Peter Quint in The turn of the Screw.

Lindsey has toured Australia extensively with Co*Opera appearing as Don Josè in Carmen, Canio and Beppe in Pagliacci, Tamino in The Magic Flute, Pinkerton in Madame Butterfly, Rodolfo in La Bohemè, Lysander in A Midsummer Night's Dream and Alfredo in La Traviata.

For the Adelaide Festival Centre Lindsey has performed the role of Benny Southstreet in Guys and Dolls and appeared many times as a soloist in the Sunday Salon and Morning Melodies Programmes including the Big Book of Broadway in August 2001.

Lindsey has performed the tenor solos in the Rossini Stabat Mater, Bach's Johannes Passion and in Handel's Messiah.

Since relocating to London in 2001, Lindsey has appeared as Erik in Wagner's Der Fliegende Hollander and The Theatre Director in Brand's Maschinist Hopkins both for the Cambridge Opera Society. He has performed in the stage play Opera Café and several other concerts including a recital in the Canterbury festival.

For the first 3 months of 2003 Lindsey appeared through-out the United States of America performing the role of Pinkerton in Madame Butterfly for Columbia Artist Management.
