Solo violin - Peter Fisher Peter studied in London (Royal College of Music under Jaroslav and Kveta Vanecek), Germany (Hochschule für Musik in Stuttgart under Ricardo Odnoposoff) and the USA (University of Indiana at Bloomington under Franco Gulli on a Fulbright Foundation Scholarship). He has had solo engagements all over Europe in Germany, Italy, Spain, Croatia, Greece, Turkey, Cyprus and the USA with concertos by Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, Bruch, Mendelssohn, Glazunov, Berg.
Peter regularly gives performances of chamber-music with guitarist Dorothy Linell and pianists Michael Dussek and Alvin Moisey. Among these have been Royal Gala performances at Windsor Castle with Cleo Lane, John and Avril Dankworth.
Peter Fisher gave his London Wigmore Hall debut in 1996 to great critical acclaim. He is much in demand as orchestral player and director with regular appearances with Philharmonia, BBC, London Philharmonic Orchestras and Britten Sinfonia. With 4 CD recordings to date, his recent success as 4th Prize-winner at the "Alexandre Glazunov International Violin Competition" in Paris confirms his place amongst the leading British violinists of his generation.
