Subscriptions

The annual subscription is agreed by members at Annual General Meetings, and is at present
eight pounds. An additional application fee of two pounds is payable when first joining or on rejoining the Club.


Normal Opening Hours

Monday to Saturday 7-11 p.m., Sunday:12-2 and 7-11 p.m.

These times may be varied from time to time, in conformity with the terms of the licence.

How to join the Club

1. Please visit the Club during opening hours and ask for an application form from the person in charge of the bar. Please note that non-members should be signed in by a member, and may not purchase alcoholic drinks.

2. Find two members of the Club willing to nominate you and ask them to sign your form. (At least one of the two must be a member of the Club Board of Directors.) If you do not know suitable members, please tell the Club Secretary, who should be able to help you.

3. Hand the completed form to the bar person, who will put it on the Club notice board to inform members of your application. No payment is required at this time.

4. As soon as possible the Board will consider your application and you will be informed of the result. You will normally be asked to pay the application fee. (If you do not hear within two months, please inform the Club Secretary.)

5. As soon as you have paid the application fee, you are a member of the Club and are entitled to use the Club facilities, in conformity to the Rules. A copy of the Rules is available from the Club Secretary.

Information about the Club


The Club premises are situated on the Chester Inner Ring Road in the basements of no. 16 and no. 18 Nicholas Street. The main entrance and car park - for use after 7p.m. - are at the rear, with access from Nicholas Street Mews.

During opening hours, the Club provides an excellent meeting place for Chester people to get together for a chat and a drink (alcoholic or otherwise!) Television, two good snooker tables and facilities for other indoor games are available. The Club has been designed so as to be suitable for members confined to wheelchairs.

Room Hire

Some rooms at the Club are available for hire to members for meetings and social gatherings. For further details and available dates ask at the bar. The charges are very modest. Christening, Wedding and Birthday Parties are
