This guide is
intended as an easy reference for members of the Network to books
and other resources held in our library. Subjects include donor
conception, infertility and general parenting and disclosure issues,
as well as books written for children which parents can use to help
explain their origins. These are available to be borrowed from the
library on request for a period of two months, unless requested
by another member. They may be borrowed at the national meetings
or alternatively I will send them by post discreetly in a plain
envelope. There is no charge to DC Network members for borrowing
books, cassettes and videos, apart from the cost of the return postage.
When books are not returned I will send a reminding note; if they
are still not returned I will ask for them to be paid for.
We have some
excellent new books and videos in the library. I would particularly
recommend Caroline Lorbachs book "Experiences of Donor Conception
Parents, Offspring and Donors through the years" and the "Dr
Foster Infertility Guide".
Details of these books are in the text below.
The library
also keeps information published in the journal " Journal of
Infertility Counselling", and clippings from national newspapers
and magazines, which are available to be viewed at the DC Network
national meetings. On request we can provide information on particular
issues, and photocopies of newspaper and magazine articles.
We also hold
a copy of the helpful booklet from the Human Fertilisation and Embryology
Authority "The Patient's Guide to DI and IVF Clinics".
This is available free from the HFEA, 30 Artillery Lane, London,
E1 7LS. Phone: 020 7377 5077 or can be accessed through their website
