WEEKENDS

Brief tutorials and advice for newcomers, just a fun motoring weekend for old stagers

THE MOST RECENT PRACTICE WEEKEND WAS YONKS AGO

The next will be whenever wanted

Healey and TR4A THE PROGRAMME IS ALWAYS:
Friday: Evening arrival, greeting (hello!), dinner.
Saturday: Morning tutorial, afternoon rallying, discussion of what you did wrong (or hopefully right), followed by evening dinner
Sunday: Morning rallying, lunch, results and departure.

ARE YOU PERHAPS INTERESTED IN DOING A DEELEY TIMED EVENT, BUT MAYBE A BIT WORRIED BY THE COMPETITIVE SIDE OF THINGS?

WELL DON'T BE, BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT THESE WEEKENDS ARE ALL ABOUT - TO SHOW YOU HOW IT'S DONE.

These weekends are run to exactly the same rules as used on the main events, even (sometimes) to the extent of measuring in kilometres instead of miles. The controls will be done in the same way, methods and paperwork the same, timing will be the same, even the distance you will go will be pretty similar, all will be as much alike as possible, bearing in mind that these are crowded English roads rather than empty continental ones.

The morning tutorial will cover everything from the evil Deeley way of doing things to what a tulip is (in the rally sense, not the dutch flower), from the arcane art of calibration to instructions on how to compile speed tables and so on. Then on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning there will be two or three hours of 'Deeleyarity" rallying around the Somerset lanes.

Entry fee for TWO people in a classic car is £400.00, but this includes everything connected with the event, plus two nights bed and breakfast (Friday and Saturday) plus dinner on Friday and Saturday and Sunday lunch as well!

THESE WEEKENDS WILL BE RUN AS OFTEN OR AS REGULARLY AS THERE IS INTEREST IN THEM.
