In general, a perennially sunny climate means that it is a pleasure to visit South Africa at any time of the year. Midwinter is in June/July, and midsummer in December/January. 	Among areas of outstanding natural beauty are Mosel Bay, the Wilderness National Park, Knysna, the Tzitzikamma Forest, Plettenberg, Storms River, the Outeniqua and Montagu Passes. A sightseeing train travels from George along the scenic coastline to Knysna. Well known sightseeing attractions at Oudshoorn include the Cango Caves with their magnificent crystalline rock formations, Ostrich Farms, Cango Angora Farm and Crocodile & Cheetahland.
CAPE TOWN Cape Town is the gateway to the picturesque Garden Route stretching from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth. It has a lot to offer the visitor including a large number of golf courses throughout the region, many of championship standard, and superb, sandy beaches. Sightseeing highlights include a trip by cable car to the top of Table Mountain, tour of a Wine Estate and sample some wines, scenic drive around the Cape of Good Hope to the Cape Point Nature Reserve & the Vicoria & Alfred Waterfront with its eclectic mix of old and modern shops, restaurants and waterfront bars.	Plettenberg Bay is a famous upmarket holiday resort and enjoys a marvellous temperate climate all year round with warm sea temperatures, more sunshine and less wind than many other Cape coastal resorts. Six miles of golden sand and good surf encourage water sports and from June to December the whales come from the Antarctic to mate and calve and dolphins swim daily in and out of the waves off Look-out beach.
GARDEN ROUTE The coastal route between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth is known as the Garden Route and renowned for its spectacular scenery and breathtaking beauty. There are a number of golf courses in the area, most notably, Fancourt Country Club in George where one must be a guest or a member to play the two championship courses.
