Heidescop Type 1

Franke & Heidecke built on the earlier success of their competitors Voigtlander "Stereoflectoscope" with this plate camera, first made between 1925 and 1926 to a similar design consisting of two taking lenses spaced far enough apart to allow a third lens to provide an image onto a reflex fold-away viewing screen on the top. The viewing screen, also containing a bubble spirit level, can be viewed at waist height or through a magnified eye piece that flips over the top of the viewing cradle. (This is a sexy camera!). The lenses are Carl Zeis, 7.5cm, f4.5 and the shutters are Compur. The camera comes in a tidy leather case with hidden compartment in the lid for remote shutter release and lens filters.

I was extremely fortunate to aquire this camera and the Heidescop from its previous owner who also provided some examples of stereo photographs taken with the Heidescop. (More information will follow when I have it - as ever if you know anything about this camera please email me)
