This is essentially the same basic camera as the standard FED Stereo. The main difference is that it has been through more rigorous quality checks and has improved electrics/automated exposure controling mechanism.

An excellent reproduction/translation of the Manual for this camera is available. The camera itself can be bought from Kalimex. in Prague who also provided the information below on the major differences between the different models.

Improvements to FED B-O-Y Stereo and FED M Stereo over the FED Stereo and VRN Stereo:

• more precise operation of the automatics and shutters;
• more precise matching of the pictures of both channels;
• depth scale of the best stereoscopic view;
• another distance numbers on the distance scale;
• improved design of the film sensitivity setting mechanism.

FED M

Good Points and Bad Points :

Same as for the Standard FED Stereo plus:

• Improved reliability over standard model (electrics and exposure control)
• Not quite such good value for money as standard FED.

As an addendum to this page I have recently heard that production of the FED Stereo range may soon cease
