Realist 45 (ST 44)

So much has been written about the Realist that I hesitate to go into any great detail myself. This model was released subsequent to the release of the Kodak Stereo in direct competition and at a reduced price (around $90 compared to the original Realist at more than double that price). It is a fairly basic camera but not lacking in any features needed to produce first class results (watch this space) It uses standard 35mm film and takes 16 to 29 pairs depending on film length (24 or 36). lenses are 35mm Steinheil-Cassar f/3.5 triplets in Gauthier Verso shutters, speeds between 1/25th and 1/200th. The 45 was based on the Iloca Rapid and was manufactured by Iloca in Germany under licence to the David White Company.

Bought at auction for $135 (inclusive of flash assembly and viewer).
