Purchased via the Internet from Antiques & Collectables (whom I can recommend for their friendly and efficient service). This is my first Realist format camera - I suspect that when I finally get a Realist it will be something of a let down by comparison!. This is an excellent camera and short of having some of the features you might find on a modern day camera it has everything you might want. The flash mount is unusual and looks to have been specially constructed for stereo camera use (possibly for the Revere exclusively although I have not been able to check it on other cameras of the day as yet*). It is marked "Sanford" on the underside.

Good and Bad Points (depending on your viewpoint)

• Spirtit level in the viewfinder (assists in achieving matching horizontal exposures - very important in stereo photography)
• Aid to focussing /paralax correction.
• Modern day flash gun compatibility (via adapter available from Reel 3d Site )
• Problems have been reported with the Revere Depth of Focus scale.

* It looks as though it is specific to the Revere - it blocks the shutters on both the Realists)
