Viewmasters

A visit to some local auction rooms last year started me on the road to collecting Viewmasters. I was lucky enough to pick up a Model D and Model F for next to nothing. They are both in excellent condition although the boxes are well used. The model D is the stalwart viewmaster viewer in our household. My wife says she gets a much better image from being able to focus the viewer and although I find the other viewers adequate the Model D is my favourite for this reason. (Both bought for 11.00 (GBP) in 1997.

I got a bit carried away and paid 25 (GBP) for the Model E in early 1998. It is a basic viewer (not lighted like the D and E although I understand that an add-on is available). Nicer than the more recent viewers as the viewer channel is completely blacked out.

Mickey Mouse Viewer

This one I picked up at a local Antiques Centre. it dates from 1969 and is a fairly basic Viewmaster Model (in fact it is a fairly basic Viewmaster Model with Mickey Mouse stuck on the back!).

Talking Viewmaster

New for 1997 and a departure from the standard reel format. This is the Batman edition complete with (short) digital sound effects which trigger on every new stereo image.
