It is with a great deal of pride that I welcome you all to our District Web Site as it shows that the district is moving forward in this age of technology and also it allows those who know nothing about our association a chance to browse and see for themselves why Lions Clubs International is the largest Service Orientated Organisation in the world. When joining Telford Lions Club back in 1991, I wanted to do something with my spare time and had no thoughts about anything other than the local area. Thankfully this did not last too long, as after a few months getting to know all the members PDG Adrian Senior then Region Chairman invited me to a Region Meeting, where for the first time I met Lions from many other clubs and started what has today given me the confidence to hold this office of District Governor. From that day, although still remembering heavily my commitment to Telford Lions Club, I have found what I believe is the true spirit of Lionism that sees us with friends from around the globe and our assistance to those in need, not only locally but on a worldwide base. My theme for the year is quite selfish as if we can achieve it would see us all harmonious in the further building of Lions n 105BS, that "Working Together As One To Build A Brighter Future" and with this it means young and old, too often do we forget other age groups who need our support and from my statement at the Nomination meeting back in May I had 3 clear visions: - 1. To see the District grow and form new clubs in areas where we do not currently work. 2. To see a greater surge in our Youth Projects. 3. To increase our Media Coverage. If we can achieve my aims together then 105BS will never again teeter on the edge of transition. Fellow Lions I look forward to working together with you all and our brighter future.
