'Jack Trowbridge completed a formal apprenticeship
with Eric Gill's nephew, the sculptor John Skelton, which included
training at Brighton College of Art. He works in stone, slate, wood,
metals and plastics.
Commissions include:
- Lettering in stone at County Hall, Truro
- Memorial to Duncan Grant in Portland stone, Firle Churchyard,
Sussex
- Memorial sun dial to Miss GM Tranter in Penlee Gardens, Penzance
- Memorial stones at Zennor, Towednack and Penzance
- Memorial slate bench at Ruan Minor
- Set pieces for Zennor pantomime group
Work is usually on show at galleries in Cornwall and beyond. In
Penwith they include
- Avalon and Out of the Blue, Marazion
- Capstan, Sennen Cove
- Navigator, St. Just
- Lighthouse, Penzance
- Pebbles, St. Ives
It is also featured at Trelissick & Trelowarren for the Cornwall
Crafts Association.'
