The Durnfords of All Cannings

Devizes

                  and Potterne     

In the County of Wiltshire.

                                                                                    

       This site is concerned with the genealogy of the Durnford family whose roots were in the small Wiltshire village of All Cannings.

From there they spread out  to Devizes, Potterne, Melksham,and several other villages in Wiltshire.

To London, Winchester, and East Retford.  To Salford, Prestwich and Blackburn in Lancashire, South Wales and East Anglia, and even the United States of America.

If your surname is Durnford, or your ancestors were Durnfords, maybe you are one of the people listed on this site and thus can trace your ancestry (at least as far back as these records go which is the late 1600's).

If you are a Durnford but are not one of the family that originated in All Cannings, the listings of records extracted from the indexes of the General Records Office may be of help if you wish to trace your ancestors.
