The following group of photographs are in the possession of Adrian Boult.
As they were with the family bible of James Durnford they are almost certainly photos of his sons.
The photos are not dated but the group and the left hand photo were taken in Devizes. The right hand one was taken in Manchester.
However as James Durnford had eight sons who are these ?
As the photos passed down to the descendants of James Frederick it is probable that one them is he.
Two of his brothers lived for a time in Manchester, Harry and James Woodman, so the right hand photo is probably one of these two.
