DON HAZELDINE

I've always been interested in passenger ships, growing up in Singapore, Aden and Cyprus and then from the age of 11 at school in Dover, England. I've been careful to separate hobby from career, not going to sea but enjoying 20 years in the Armed Services with 4 years as a helicopter pilot, then as an aerospace executive. Now in my late 50s, I continue to work as a Project Management Consultant. Over the years I've amassed a vast collection of shipping books, particularly on ocean liners of the 20th Century, and latterly cruiseships.

Since writing The Compendium of the World's Passenger Ships in 1991 and starting this passenger history service in 1999, I have been asked to contribute towards projects for television, the film industry in America, novel and several reference books. These are the latest to be published:
