The Question:

I live in Indonesia. I am a woman, Chinese and my zodiac sign is Aquarius. What could I do to maybe meet someone special this year and what are the chances of this happening?

The Answer:

I drew an advice card. This was the 6 of Pentacles. (The card shown is from the popular Rider-Waite deck)

This card of giving and receiving suggests a need for more sociability, and practical activities within your community - social or charitable or educational, as a way forward. Maybe you will meet someone at or through a school or college.

The tarot feels that you MAY meet someone in 2008 but right now it is possible rather than probable. Tarot presents it as a 3 out of 8 chance. Therefore do not rely on luck or chance in 2008. Be ready to help the sitaution along yourself.

What might improve the chances? Well, the tarot sees you as a clever, kind and honourable person. But you are independent, and may worry that marriage means a loss of this independence. The Tarot thinks that sometimes you just think too much. There is such a thing as over-thinking, in human relationships.

Caution is only sensible, but sometimes you may be thinking yourself to a standstill.

Falling in love is not about thinking, not to start with. Attraction is usually an instant thing and seems simple.

Small changes can send positive signals. The tarot seems to think you wear dark colours rather often, so think about the flowers. How do they attract the bees? Colour and perfume signal their readiness to be approached.

This card suggests you do not need to look far for love. It is certainly to be found in your home town.  Try not to be too traditional in your idea of what to expect. Happy relationships can take many forms, and need not always have to mean marriage and children if you do not wish for these things, and not everybody does.

Men sometimes find you intimidating. Because you appear so independent, they may feel you do not need anything from them. They may find the conversation too serious. A little laughter goes a long way.

Get out and about more, get involved with your neighbourhood, work at keeping things light, let others discover your depth with time, and improve the odds for this year.

Response:

Dear Katie, thank you for the help. What you have told me is really absolutely right, and what is clearly most important is to be at peace with myself whether or not I am living with someone.
